(January 8, 2007)…..Deborah Sawyer, a partner with the executive search firm Morgan Howard Worldwide, has placed Barton L. Hughes as Vice President, Professional Services for Cadence Design Systems, Inc. Headquartered in San Jose, CA, Cadence is the world's largest supplier of electronic-design technologies and engineering services. Cadence products and services are used to accelerate and manage the design of semiconductors, computer systems, networking equipment, telecommunications equipment, consumer electronics and other electronics-based products. With approximately 5,200 employees and 2005 revenues of approximately $1.3 billion, Cadence trades on both the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and NASDAQ under the symbol CDN.
An engineer by training, Mr. Hughes originally worked for Hewlett-Packard before moving into consulting roles with Booz Allen Hamilton and, most recently, as an Executive Partner with Accenture. His extensive experience includes directing practice strategy and operations, recruiting, service delivery methodology and P&L for a $50 million North America Media and High Tech Strategy and Business Architecture practice. Mr. Barton brings to this new role both traditional consulting experience leading large, complex engagements for high technology clients, and his own innovative approach to how engagements are delivered and how clients’ expectations are met.
As Vice President, Professional Services, Mr. Hughes will have full responsibility for structuring and organizing the current business to create a world-class service delivery operation across Cadence’s software product suites.
