ATLANTA, February 5, 2007Deborah Sawyer, a senior partner with the executive search firm Morgan Howard, has placed Dipu Pramanik, Ph.D. as Vice President, Design for Back-End Manufacturability at Cadence Design Systems, Inc.  Headquartered in San Jose, California, Cadence is the world's largest supplier of electronic design technologies and engineering services.  Cadence products and services are used to accelerate and manage the design of semiconductors, computer systems, networking equipment, telecommunications equipment, consumer electronics and other electronics-based products.  With approximately 5,200 employees and 2005 revenues of approximately $1.3 billion, Cadence trades on both the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and NASDAQ under the symbol CDN.

The successful candidate brings to Cadence over 25 years experience in the semiconductor industry, during which time he has developed leading edge technology for silicon based products.  As Vice President, Design for Back-End Manufacturability, Dr. Pramanik directs an organization of over 200 engineers across multiple geographic sites worldwide, driving development of corporate DFM strategy, new product development and support of Cadence’s product lines.  Prior to joining Cadence, Dr. Pramanik was Group Director of Research and Development, TCAD, for Synopsys.  He has published numerous articles and holds 36 patents for his work.
