Deborah A. Sawyer

Deborah A. Sawyer is the Managing Director of Morgan Howard Asia Pacific and Senior Partner with Morgan Howard Worldwide.

A veteran of the executive search industry, Ms. Sawyer has had the honor of leading several major, global client relationships during the course of her career. Ms. Sawyer has worked throughout the Asia Pacific region, including Greater China, Japan, Korea, and Singapore. Her international experience also includes assignments in London, Paris, Montreal and Toronto, as well as throughout the United States. Currently based in Singapore, Ms. Sawyer oversees Morgan Howard’s Asia Pacific operations including Singapore, China, India, Hong Kong, Japan and the Middle East.

At Morgan Howard, Ms. Sawyer's assignments focus primarily on senior executive positions spanning a variety of industries, including advanced technology, professional services and financial services, with a functional focus on administration, operations and engineering. Ms. Sawyer has been cited with excellence by her clients for her diligence in listening to their needs and understanding the strategic impact that the recruited executive will have on the client company's future.

Ms. Sawyer has been widely quoted on executive matters in national and regional media including CNBC, The Wall Street Journal and The Atlanta Business Chronicle. In the Atlanta market, she co-hosts WGKA 920 AM's highly rated radio talk show, The Career Doctors. Additionally, she is a regular guest on GPTV's Georgia Business Report, commenting on today's job market.

Prior to joining Morgan Howard, Ms. Sawyer was a senior client partner at Korn/Ferry International’s Atlanta office and a leader in that firm’s North American advanced technology practice. Previously, she was a former consultant with Heidrick & Struggles, where she successfully established an extensive search consulting practice while conducting multiple engagements for senior information technology executives within the professional services, utilities and financial services sectors.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Sawyer was a vice president and director of research at another leading search firm. She managed research projects for mid to upper level management positions in a variety of industries as well as opened and recruited personnel for that firm’s San Francisco and Chicago offices. Prior to entering executive search, Ms. Sawyer’s career was in marketing research and statistics.

Ms. Sawyer holds an MBA from Georgia State University. She earned her BA in international affairs from Florida State University, with minors in history, economics and French.
